During my four years of high school I was on a FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics team. I was on Team 1538 / The Holy Cows. During my 4 years on the team I worked in the business department and the strategy department. I also traveled across the US to competitions and interacted with teams all around the world.

Girl Scout Gold Award

During my junior year I earned my Girl Scout Gold Award. I am a big advocate for female representation in STEM fields, so my project promoted this. I hosted STEM workshops for middle school girls, where we did STEM puzzles and had a panel of women in STEM fields talk about their career. I decided to host workshops for middle schoolers because that is the age range that girls typically lose interest in pursuing STEM careers.

RAD Lab Internship

In the summer of 2018 I participated in a RAD Lab internship program. I worked in a group to create an eye-tracking game. The game named Balloon Pop is designed to train attentional skills in toddlers with Autism Spectrum Disorders. For my role in the project I designed game graphics in Adobe Illustrator. In Balloon Pop the player fixates on balloons that float across the screen until they pop. I presented my work at the Qualcomm Institute in front of scientists and people in the tech field.

In the summer of 2019 I interned again at the RAD Lab. I worked in a group to develop a game version of the UFOV (Useful Field of Vision) Test, which is used to predict the risk of someone getting into a car crash. I developed graphics for the game using Adobe Illustrator.
